A new Ubuntu One Files app has been officially launched in Google Play and it’s ready for download and testing.

“This App is wrote in C++ using Qt and QML for the user interface and, although currently is mainly focused on Android, it is 100% compatible with iOS, Ubuntu Phone and other Qt-compatible platforms,” said José Expósito on the official mailing list.

Ubuntu One Files is a personal cloud app from Canonical which provides its users with 5GB of free storage. This is the first app that will work on so many platforms, including Ubuntu Phone (although it hasn’t been adopted yet).

“The application is now in alpha state because some features, like automatic camera roll uploads, are missing. However it is stable and functional. The main idea of this release is try to get interest over the project from developers and graphical designers and get information about the Ubuntu One application in Ubuntu Phone,” he added.

This is not an official app and it has nothing to do with Canonical, but it’s working on Ubuntu Phone, which can’t be said about the official app.
