On September 5, Canonical, through Maria Bonnefon, proudly announced that Chinese customers will be able to purchase Dell laptops pre-loaded with the Ubuntu Linux operating system from even more stores over the next few weeks.

As part of a successful partnership, Canonical and Dell China will work closely together to drastically increase the number of stores that sell Ubuntu-based computers in China beyond 1,000 outlets.

"Dell and Canonical will jointly extend across Tier 1 thru’ Tier 6 Chinese cities with a range of hardware pre-loaded with the Chinese language version of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The original stores have proven so successful that the companies have agreed to expand to beyond 1,000 outlets."

"Incredibly exciting to see that Chinese consumers now have the opportunity to acquire a large range of Dell computers with Ubuntu," said Maria Bonnefon, market development lead at Canonical, in the press announcement.
