The final version of Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 will be released on October 17

The first Beta release of the upcoming Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 Beta 1 (Saucy Salamander) operating system has also been announced by Canonical, bringing a complete and pure GNOME 3.8 desktop environment.

Being powered by Linux kernel 3.11, Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 Beta 1 includes most of the GNOME 3.8 packages, a brand new Plymouth bootloader theme, and updated login screen.

The new GNOME Classic session is also included in this Beta release of Ubuntu GNOME 13.10, and Ubuntu Online Accounts is no longer included by default.
