The first Beta release of the upcoming Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) Linux distribution has been announced a few minutes ago, and it's available for download and testing.

Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 Beta 1 includes most of the GNOME 3.8 packages, the Plymouth bootloader theme and the login screen have been updated with a brand-new logo designed by Alfredo Hernández, and the new GNOME Classis session has been included.

Unfortunately, the Ubuntu Online Accounts package is no longer included by default starting with this first Beta release of Ubuntu GNOME 3.10. Linux kernel 3.11 is also on board, bringing support for Xen and KVM virtualization on 64-bit ARM (AArch64) hardware.

Download Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 Beta 1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
