Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 Alpha 1 (Saucy Salamander) is now available for download and a short screenshot tour is available on Softpedia.

The biggest change in Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 Alpha 1 (Saucy Salamander) is the introduction of GNOME 3.8. The developers could have added this version of GNOME since Ubuntu 12.10, but they have chosen to wait.

The more conservative users will also get the new GNOME Classic session, which can be selected from the log-in screen, and Ubuntu Online Accounts has been removed, at least for now.

More details about the first GNOME-flavored Ubuntu can be found in the official announcement.

Download Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 Alpha 1 (Saucy Salamander) right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
