The Ubuntu Edge project has just entered its last 24 hours and it seems that Canonical will not be able to raise the necessary funds.
Ubuntu Edge might be a dud, but most of the Linux community agrees that Canonical might still be a winner, even without launching the phone.
A lot of major companies are now aware of the pull that Canonical commands in the community and people have heard the cry of the phone users who want a powerful device that is capable of working as a PC.
It's unsure what's going to happen after the Ubuntu Edge campaign is over, but my feeling is that we'll be hearing about this phone and about Ubuntu for Android for a long time.
Ubuntu Edge is a phone developed by Canonical that features some interesting hardware specifications. More details about the price and the campaign can be found in our initial report.
