Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS Released

Steve Langasek announced last night (July 16th) the third maintenance release of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron), which (in case you forgot) is supported with maintenance updates and security fixes until April 2011 on desktops, and April 2013 on servers. Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS brings to its dedicated users a lot of security updates and corrections (over 80), all with a single goal: to keep Ubuntu 8.04 LTS a stable and reliable Linux distribution!

"In all, 80 updates have been integrated, and updated installation media has been provided so that fewer updates will need to be downloaded after installation. These include security updates and corrections for other high-impact bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 8.04 LTS." - Steve Langasek said in the official release announcement.

Highlights of Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS:

· The Nautilus shortcuts for Samba shares were fixed;
· The connection issues with the new ICQ protocol were fixed;
· foomatic-rip's LSB compliance was fixed;
· Fixed a crash when SSH locations were browsed;
· Some suspend issues were fixed;
· libgomp is now able to work with the shared libraries;
· Support for LSB 4.0;
· Fixed a couple of kernel issues;
· ...and many more!

Hi!
I switched to Kubuntu 9.04, for a month, because my win has crashed, and it wouldn't install again. So after a while Kubuntu became very buggy, with those Kwin effects, so I decided to install Ubuntu (I always preferred KDE instead of Gnome) and it run very smoothly. There were some things that I just couldn't get used to, for example the start menu panel. I've customized it, too look more like win, but there wasn't enough room for the running applications.
I've noticed on the screenshot that Mac OS like dock. Would that solve my problem? And if so, what is that app?
