The level of detail in this single icon is simply astounding

The Ubuntu designers are working on a new icon theme for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and the level of detail implemented in their work is astounding.

Some people have been complaining that the new icon theme proposed for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, which has been demonstrated during the last UDS (Ubuntu Developer Summit), is too similar to the iOS 7 icon set.

Nothing could be farther from the truth, as designer Lorenzo Woodley (not associated with Canonical) has pointed out in Google+ post.

The Maps icon, which will be used presumably in Ubuntu Touch and which will share the same icon theme with the desktop version, shows the intersection of two roads, Quantal Avenue and Precise Street.

In case you have forgotten, Precise Pangolin was Ubuntu 12.04 and Quantal Quetzal was Ubuntu 12.10. We'll let you be the judge of Canonical's work on the icons, but I think it has outdone itself.
