Canonical has released Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and now it's time to take a closer looks at the new operating system. We have prepared a short screenshot tour of the Linux distribution.

The developers from Canonical have been hard at work and they managed to put together the best Ubuntu release. It's the 20th version of Ubuntu and it comes with an abundance of features and interesting changes.

“Codenamed ‘Trusty Tahr,’ 14.04 LTS continues Ubuntu’s proud tradition of integrating the latest and greatest open source technologies into a high-quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. The team has been hard at work through this cycle, introducing new features and fixing bugs.”

“Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is the first long-term support release with support for the new "arm64" architecture for 64-bit ARM systems, as well as the "ppc64el" architecture for little-endian 64-bit POWER systems. This release also includes several subtle but welcome improvements to Unity, AppArmor, and a host of other great software.”

These are just a few of the features that you might find. For example, support for High-DPI screens and desktop scaling has been added, a new lock screen has been added, the option to show menus embedded in the window's title bar instead of the top menu bar has been implemented, and Dash scopes can now be enabled and disabled from Application lens.

We have a comprehensive review for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) in place if you want to get a better idea about the distribution. You can also download Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) right now from Softpedia.
