Even if Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) hasn't been launched yet, it doesn't mean that Canonical can't post the schedule and release date for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Canonical plans all the dates for upcoming milestone of their operating systems in advance and they have a habit of respecting that schedule to the letter.

The release schedule for Ubuntu 14.04 has been published and the first Alpha version is expected to arrive on December 19, 2013. The second Alpha will arrive on January 23, 2014, while the first Beta will be available on March 27.

The final Beta, and the only one to feature an actual Ubuntu release beside Kubuntu, Xubuntu, and the rest, will be ready for download on March 27.

This means that the final version of Ubuntu 14.04, which will be the next LTS, will arrive on April 17.
