Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) Alpha Flavors to Be Launched Tomorrow
A few of the Ubuntu distros launch the first Alpha version from the 13.10 cycle
Canonical is no longer providing Alpha releases for their Ubuntu operating system, but the flavors of Ubuntu, such as KDE and Xubuntu, haven't given up yet.The developers from Canonical have published a while ago the Release Schedule for Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander). The Ubuntu flavors are expected to arrive on June 27, which is actually tomorrow.
Besides the codename of the distribution, there is little information about the upcoming releases. Canonical has updated Unity, with the 101 Scopes project, but most of the Ubuntu-based Linux distributions don't actually use Unity.
So far, the Linux kernel 3.10.x has been used in the development process, but Canonical aims to implement 3.11 by October.
We'll be keeping you informed with the official launch and other such important information, for all the Ubuntu flavors that will arrive tomorrow.
