As we announced yesterday, the development cycle for the next major release of the Ubuntu Linux operating system will start today, May 2, 2013.

Therefore, daily builds of Ubuntu 13.10 are now available for download on http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/, allowing users to test the Saucy Salamander and report bugs.

Right now there’s nothing to see in these first builds of Ubuntu 13.10, as they are quite identical with the stable Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) operating system, released on April 25.

If you want to learn more about the release schedule of Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander), you can do that by reading our in-depth article. Ubuntu 13.10 will be released on October 17, 2013.

Please stay tuned on our website as we will report any movement from Canonical and the development process of the Ubuntu 13.10 operating system.
