Canonical announced at the Ubuntu Developer Summit for Ubuntu 12.10, that they plan to stay with the good ol' EXT4 filesystem for the upcoming Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) distribution.

According to Michael Larabel from Phoronix, who attended the "Btrfs requirements for Quantal" session on Wednesday at UDS, the Ubuntu developers decided to use the EXT4 filesystem as default for new installations of the upcoming Ubuntu 12.10 operating system.

However, the Btrfs filesystem will still be available as an alternative in the installation wizard of the Ubuntu Linux distribution.

Ubuntu Developer Summit for Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal), the upcoming version of the popular Ubuntu operating system, is taking place these days in Oakland, USA, between 7 and 11 May.

If editor don't know meaning of "Won't Have", he must be fired. IMHO.

I thought it was obvious that we are talking about "default" filesystem. Sorry if it wasn't! I've modified the title just in case.
