Canonical has started its campaign to promote the upcoming Ubuntu 12.10 and it's throwing a party, in London, to celebrate the launch.

Ubuntu 12.10 London Release Party will be held at George Inn, Southwark London, on October 18th. You can confirm your presence on the Ubuntu-UK Google+ page.

“Do come and join the Ubuntu UK Local team and Canonical at the George Inn to celebrate the release of the next version of Ubuntu - the Quantal Quetzal takes flight,” states the announcement.

Ubuntu 12.10 has some trouble recently after Canonical's decision to integrate an Amazon lens into the home dash. A lot of people have voiced their disagreements, but it remains to be seen what the general reaction will be after the official launch.
