Designed in accordance with the LightDM login manager

The upcoming Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) operating system will have a new, eye candy lock screen, closely related to the LightDM login manager. Wait, actually, it is the LightDM login manager!

Yes, you heard that right! With yesterday's update, Canonical replaced the lock screen (yeah, that ugly and extremely old white dialog that appears when you lock the screen) with the login screen.

How? Easily, when you want to lock the screen you will actually return to the login manager, your sesssion being active in the backround. Enter your password and your session is there, exactly how you left it. You can see the "new" lock screen in the screenshot above (click to enlarge).

All we wait now is for Canonical to replace that ugly dialog when you want to restart/shutdown the computer from the LightDM login screen, right?
