Canonical has confirmed that the next point release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) will be available on February 6.

The company has postponed by two weeks the release of the fourth maintenance build, but now the release date has been confirmed and set in stone.

“I would also like to remind everyone that the 12.04.4 point release is now taking place on Thurs Feb 6. The kernel is currently frozen for 12.04.4 and we do not anticipate any respins at this time,” said Canonical's Joseph Salisbury in the latest Ubuntu Kernel meeting.

Canonical releases regular updates for its LTS distributions, and the 12.04.4 version was initially scheduled for January 23. This date has been pushed back, but it should present no problems to the 12.04 users as long as they stay updated.
