Canonical will announce tomorrow the release of Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS (Precise Pangolin) for Desktop, Server, Cloud, and Core products, featuring a new Linux kernel.

Normally, there aren't many differences from one point release to another, but the new version that comes out tomorrow is actually quite a large update (we'll be talking more about it after the official launch).

“By default, the 12.04.4 point release will ship with a newer 3.11 Ubuntu kernel from Ubuntu 13.10, and a matching X.org stack. This is based on the 3.11.0 Extended Upstream Stable Kernel Release. The purpose of providing a newer kernel in the 12.04.4 point release is for hardware enablement,” reads the official announcement.

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS still has about two and half years of support left, and Canonical will probably release quite a few more updates.
