Just a few more hours to go. (~5 if I am correct on the time) finally,
GNOME 3. Hopefully I will figure out how to use it as well as I can use xfce.

Bring up "update manager" and check for updates. Once the install process starts (it takes awhile), keep an eye on it. Be sure your power option such as harddrive shut down is off. In terminal mode, keep pressing n then enter when prompted unless you want to dabble and customize. If by chance install is interrupted by a power failure or a toddler, go to recovery mode at start up and type in your root password then sudo apt-get install -f . The screen will be nice enough to recommend typing sudo configure something. Just type what it recommends, then you'll be good to go. It takes about 20 minutes to almost two hours, depending on what's on the drive. GL. If you're a newbie like me to linux, stick with 11.04 or older until the all the kinks are worked out of 11.10. But then 11.10 feels really cool and stable right now.
