The installer crashed about 90 % of the way through installation. I had to spend a further 30 minutes reinstalling it!

I like the fact that on installation it gives you the option of downloading updates. I like Ubuntu a great deal and aside from the major glitch above I am looking forward to testing this new release.

The release date is a reference to douglas adams' hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. 101010 binary is 42 decimal.

Looking at all the forums, this release seems to be a bit of a disaster. So many people complaining about post installation/upgrade problems. Either installation is crashing, or it doesn't boot after install. Those who can boot aren't able to get their video cards fully functional or the wireless isn't working. Never had any issues like this with 10.04. I for one am sticking to 10.04 till this gets fixed. Shocking that an Ubuntu release could possibly be so buggy.

Ubuntu 10.10 is a little buggy off the install. Mine would lock up and not install at all until my neighbor came over and as soon as he saw the little icon at the bottom of the screen and made me press a button. It gave me the options for english and did the install. I had problems with the 64x version so I used the 32x instead. I have the Touchscreen tx2-dw1275 and I had a few issues here and there and one was the internet not connecting wirelessly. I did the driver install off the disk, rebooted the computer, manually configured the wireless and now I'm home free. Once you get internet I highly suggest doing an update right away. That fixed the freezing that some individuals are getting. I had that problem as well, then go and do driver updates once you've restarted your computer for system updates. I hope this helps but this Ubuntu 10.10 version is really starting to stick to me already even with the numerous problems I've had.
