It is our greatest pleasure to introduce you guys to the highlights of this new release dubbed Lucid Lynx. It all began on September 22nd, 2009, when Mark Shuttleworth announced the Lucid Lynx operating system, the next major release of the popular Ubuntu Linux operating system. · Easy-to-use search tool - Search for Files has been added to the Accessories menu and it allows users to search a folder or the entire system for various files;

Finally a new release, I don't like the new look as much as I did the look from 9.10. But is it just me or is the Ubuntu desktop GNOME becoming boring and old, nothing much changed in the last few years. On the other side KDE desktop looks much nicer and has a lot more modern features. So this time around I actually tried Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu and I must say I like it a lot more in general. Not only is the desktop more advanced and powerfull, so are also the included applications. I guess I'll stay with Kubuntu and KDE for the time being, until GNOME shows some real progress.

toshiba A 300 has some problems with h20 bios but not serios enough to worry.
Heat problem is solved under power management and device manager.
"allow computer to spin down hard disk when required*.
Set computer fan states in device manager to 8 throttling stages.
Look under device *fan* and set the parrametrs from there

Running Ubuntu 9.10 on disk hda1 ssd.
Linux mint 7 on disk hd 2.
no partitons no dual boot with win of any type.
scrapped Vista for linux ubuntu and mint and never regret it ever.

Desktop Pentium Quad core /8 gigs ram/ ssd os/ 500 gig hdd slave backup.
