Ubisoft has kicked off a very special competition in Romania, in the form of the Ubi Challenge, where the French company wants to find and recruit the best ASP.net developers in the country, to work in its Webstudio team, which currently coordinates all of the company's online gaming and non-gaming efforts.
Ubisoft wants to fight it out with some of the biggest gaming companies out there, including Electronic Arts or Activision, so, in order to it, the French company wants to recruit the best talent out there.
Seeing as how Ubisoft Romania was the first studio established outside France, back in 1991, the company wants to hold a special contest for all young and aspiring developers in the country, in the form of the Ubi Challenge.
During the first edition of the competition, the company is looking for new ASP.net developers, which need to prove their skills and imagination by creating one of three distinct project themes, including a multiplayer Tic-Tac-Toe web application, a scratch card one, or a MyFriends application which allows Facebook users to log into their account and then displays the location of their friends on an interactive map.
While the best of the best will be given a position right in the Ubisoft Webstudio division, without any sort of internship, thus kickstarting their developer career, there are also quite a few other prizes to be had. These include a Xbox 360 and
Kinect bundle, as well as HTC HD7 mobile phones. Each contestant in the top ten will also receive a special surprise from Ubisoft and Microsoft.
The Ubi Challenge ASP.net first edition ends on October 20 and is open only to young developers from Romania. If the competition proves to be successful, the French company is expected to hold other types of contests for developers skilled in different programming languages, as well as expand it to other countries where it has a serious presence.
