The development team at Ivory Tower working with publisher Ubisoft on The Crew says that the racing game will offer more than 10,000 kilometers (6,213 miles) of open road for gamers to explore and then challenge their friends on.

Ahmed Boukhelifa, the chief operations officer of the studio, tells The Official PlayStation Magazine that, “We spent lots of time-building a physics model with the goal to create all the cars with differences in handling, but also to tune them and make them behave correctly whether you’re on a dirt track, completely off-road, roaming the mountains, on circuits.”

The mix of solid driving mechanics and big open world structure means that players can choose which types of races they like and then structure their game experience around them.

The Crew is expected is set to appear in 2014 on the PC and next-generation consoles.
