Ubisoft's casual rhythm games have been earning the French company an impressive amount of profit, as it has recently announced that Just Dance 2 has reached the 5 million units sold mark, while Michael Jackson: The Experience is nearing the 2 million units one.

A recent statistic showed that Ubisoft's was doing extremely well in terms of casual franchises, with Imagine, Petz or Rabbids raking in a lot of money, and as even more proof, its two newest rhythm games have posted impressive sales numbers.

Just Dance 2 managed to capture the many people that fell in love with the first title, and, since its release in October of last year exclusively for the Nintendo Wii, has managed to sell over 5 million units.

What's more, coupled with the first Just Dance and the Just Dance Kids spinoff, the franchise sold 10 million units across the world and was the third biggest games franchise of 2010.

“The Just Dance franchise has revitalized the video game music category with consumers worldwide joining the dance movement. Players of all ages are enjoying the social and physical benefits of playing Just Dance 2 as it’s truly a game that is accessible and enjoyable for everyone,” said Geoffroy Sardin, chief EMEA sales and marketing officer at Ubisoft.

This impressive performance was even noted by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, who congratulated the third-party publisher for achieving such a success on the Wii.

“The strong performance of Just Dance 2 is a perfect example of the potential that can be achieved by an independent publisher like Ubisoft in delivering irresistible content for the Wii system,” said Fils-Aime.

Just Dance 2 wasn't the only reason to celebrate for Ubisoft, as Michael Jackson: The Experience was also a hit with gamers, managing to move over 2 million units.

The title, released back in November for the Nintendo Wii, DS and PSP, managed to draw in a lot of fans of the King of Pop.

What's more, these sales numbers are certain to grow, as Michael Jackson: The Experience will be launched on April 12 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, complete with PlayStation Move and Kinect support.
