Yves Guillemot, the leader of publisher Ubisoft, says that pre-order levels for the Xbox One from Microsoft and PlayStation 4 from Sony are two times higher at the moment than those seen for the current generation of hardware.

The CEO made the statement during an investor call after his company revealed its financial results and projected how well it would perform in the coming months.

Both Microsoft and Sony are saying that they are trying to make sure that all those who want to pre-order a next-gen console can do so at a retailer, although some have suspended the process for short periods.

Ubisoft believes that the Xbox One and the PS4 will both be launched in November and will offer a significant boost to the gaming industry throughout the final months of the year and 2014.
