Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot has confirmed that the company will mostly stop making games for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2015, as it wants to cut down on development costs and focus just on the next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Ubisoft is one the many publishers to release cross-generation titles this year, including Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag or Watch Dogs, which will appear across many platforms.

According to Ubisoft President Yves Guillemot, who talked with GameInformer, this cross-gen effort is set to be reduced in 2014 and, in 2015, it will stop, so that development costs don't increase exponentially.

"Part of this reduction in cost is really coming from the fact that this year we had to create the games for many platforms, next-year we'll start to reduce that, and after that it won't happen. And so we, what we feel is that what we will do is create games for in the next two Christmas for the current generation, but there's a chance we stop after that. We won't stop all the games, but most of the product will be next-generation."

Other companies, like EA, have also revealed that they'll stop supporting the PS3 or Xbox 360 in the future.
