The game will deliver a similar open world experience

Laurent Detoc, the leader of the North American division of Ubisoft, says that his company wants to emulate the success that Grand Theft Auto has had in the open world genre when Watch Dogs finally launches.

VG247 quotes the executive as saying that, “There’s an attachment to the brand, in the case of GTA, that makes people really want to give it that 100-percent review. We’ll be missing that on Watch Dogs until we go further, potentially. That’s what we’re after.”

Watch Dogs was initially set to launch this fall on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, the PC and current-gen consoles.

This would have meant that the game could have competed directly with GTA V.

Ubisoft has delayed its open world game in order to make sure that the level of quality is in line with the expectations of both critics and fans.
