14 DAY TRIAL // Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot shared his thoughts concerning the Nintendo Wii U and emphasized that he’d be more happy if the console was cheaper than it currently is.
The Nintendo Wii U is an all-new home console and, while the Japanese company is busy hyping up its new features and increased hardware power, its price is still higher than that of the PS3 or Xbox 360.
This matter doesn’t make Ubisoft, one of the Wii U’s most important third-party developers, happy.
“I always prefer lower pricing, so I can't say I'm happy,” Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot told GamesIndustry.
“I'm never happy when the machines are expensive. What we have to do there is remember that compared to an iPad, it's cheap. With what it brings [to the gaming table] it's cheap. But I hope they'll be able to drop their price in time.”
Considering Nintendo wants to make a profit as soon as possible, a price cut close to its actual launch might not be a good idea, although such a thing did save the 3DS last year.
