Tom Clancy’s The Division is one of the most intriguing video game projects set to be launched in the coming year, and the development team working on it at Ubisoft says that it will not downgrade the graphics quality on any of the platforms before launch because of performance concerns.

Gamers have claimed that the game does not manage to deliver the same impressive look that has been shown in the trailers the publisher created for E3 2014 or 2013, but the company maintains that the Snowdrop engine is powerful enough to create graphics that are very close to real.

Ryan Barnard, a game director working on Tom Clancy’s The Division, is quoted by Gamepur as saying that “We get that a lot. I think the problem with having an engine like Snowdrop where the graphical fidelity is so high, that of course you’re going to have those concerns.”

He adds, “You know, we’re working really hard, especially this year, what we brought is the look that you’ll have on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. PC might even be able to push it.”

The Division was first announced as a title that was supposed to be launched in the fall of this year, but Ubisoft announced that it was delaying it to an unspecified release window in 2015 in order to give the developers the time they need to create a deep and engaging experience.

Ubisoft Massive, Ubisoft Reflections and Ubisoft Red Storm are all contributing to the title, and rumors have claimed that the three separate studios have some trouble communicating on how to best use the impressive Snowdrop engine.

The Division is a title that mixes third-person shooter and action adventure mechanics with elements taken from the massive multiplayer online genre.

Gamers will have to choose a class and then explore a version of the city of New York that has been affected by a rapidly-spreading plague which originated on Black Friday.

The Division is a powerful organization that’s made up of capable operatives who need to work together to re-establish order and to protect those who have managed to survive.

Ubisoft says that it wants players who get the title to interact with one another in order to create capable squads, which can deal with a range of problems, and then explore the game world in order to solve challenges and discover the source of the mystery plague.
