Gamers will be able to trade the resources for upgrades

Axel Rydby, the design director working on Tom Clancy’s The Division, says that scavenging for water and food will be a big part of the upcoming game even if the player character does not actually have to eat or drink to survive.

He is quoted by VG247 as saying that, “when it comes to having to drink water and eat food to be able to survive, that’s not really what we want from it. Food and water will be a very important part of the game, but players will not need to eat and drink to stay alive.”

Because the two resources are scarce, players will be able to obtain them both from quests and by simply exploring some locations of the world and then use them to trade for better weapons and items.

The Division is a complex experience that takes place after a lethal new disease causes the breakdown of American society soon after Black Friday.

Players will be able to create a character and then try their best to survive in the disintegrating world.
