Ubisoft has revealed the collector's edition of the upcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 entry in the Assassin's Creed series, bearing the subtitle of Rogue.

Although the decision to release two Assassin's Creed games at the same time may seem a bit puzzling to some, Ubisoft's reasoning is pretty sound. Assassin's Creed Unity is headed for next-gen platforms, making the most out of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 systems, while Rogue is meant as an offering for the many fans of the series who have not yet upgraded their choice of devices, and who would still like to get their hands on a new game in the series this year.

The game is meant to complete the North American saga that started with Assassin's Creed III and continued with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and enables previous-generation console owners to experience and enjoy some of their requested features, like playing as a Templar.

In the upcoming title, players will be cast in the role of Shay Patrick Cormca, a Templar who is betrayed by his brethren, and who must embark on a quest for vengeance, becoming an Assassin hunter.

The Assassin's Creed: Rogue Collector's Edition offers a host of additional content for fans of the legendary action-adventure series, neatly bundled inside the collector's box.

The package includes a physical copy of the game, alongside an art book featuring dazzling artistic renditions from within the game, three lithographs in an envelope, as well as the game's soundtrack.

Those who purchase the collector's edition of Assassin's Creed: Rogue will also get their hands on some exclusive digital content, in the form of two single-player missions.

The Siege of Fort de Sable Mission allows players to continue the battle at sea, with a bonus fort raiding encounter set in the unexplored northern territories of the New World.

The Armor of Sir Gunn's Quest enables players to explore North America, seeking to locate the remains of Scottish adventurer and Templar Sir James Gunn, as well as to solve the mystery of the man who may have been the first to discover the New World.

Players who pre-order either edition of the upcoming action-adventure game will receive The Siege of Fort de Sable Mission DLC, plus the Commander Pack, Officer Pack and Templar Pack as bonuses.

Assassin's Creed: Rogue is currently scheduled to come out on November 11, exclusively for the Xbox 360 computer entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 gaming console from Sony.
