Players will soon be able to pre-order titles for the new console

The images showing game covers for the upcoming Nintendo Wii U home gaming console that were leaked on an Amazon subsidiary are real, according to at least one major publisher.

Michael Beadle, who is a representative for French publisher Ubisoft, has told GameTrailers that, “Why yes, the Wii U box art you sent is legit; in fact, it’s too legit to quit.”

Bad pun aside, this means that Nintendo and publishers have locked down the cover art and that it won’t be too far before the Japanese company announces an official launch date for the Wii U while retailers allow players to place pre-orders for the games.

The Wii U also currently lacks an official price point and Nintendo has only said that the cost will be competitive when compared to other devices and that the new hardware will be launched before the height of the Christmas shopping season on all major markets.
