Developer and publisher Ubisoft has confirmed that its hacking action-adventure video game Watch Dogs is headed to the Nintendo Wii U home console on November 18/21.

Yesterday, a rumor regarding the release date of the video game surfaced on the Internet, sparked by a Facebook post from Ubisoft Mexico, stating that "the wait is coming to an end" and citing a November 18 release date for North America.

The post was, of course, promptly deleted, and the anxious employee, no doubt, scolded, but the "damage" had already been done.

Ubisoft previously announced that the release date of Watch Dogs on the Wii U had been delayed, and the that game would not come out for Nintendo's console alongside its arrival on all other platforms, supplying the need for extra work to be done on the title as reasoning.

Now, the developer has confirmed that the Wii U edition of Watch Dogs is coming out on November 18 in North America, November 20 in Europe and November 21 in the United Kingdom.

Considering that the game is already struggling in many areas on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and that the PC port had numerous problems which the company is still trying to solve through patches, it's going to be interesting to see how well it runs on the Wii U.
