Ubiquiti has recently launched a new firmware version for their AirOS V “Exceptionally Intuitive Interface.” Revision number 5.5.4 comes with a vast list of fixes, improvements and updates.

To begin with, an alternative data rate algorithm option has been added as well as an audio option for Antenna Alignment Tool and a "Feed only - 3dBi" option for AirGrid and NanoBridge antennas.

Improvements are now visible on the AirMax products that show enhancements in PtMP scenarios, lower latency in Long Range PTP mode and voice performance/latency improvements in PtMP scenarios.

Speed tests show that handling and reporting timeout/errors has been improved.

Stability has been enhanced with the addition of the filesystem check on boot, memory leak protection for less than 1MB of RAM and HW watchdog in u-boot.

The size of the fix list implies that serious work has been done. Issues attended by this firmware include Rocket Titanium airSync Slave not connecting to airSync Master and M Series devices hanging during reboot.
