YouTube is surely the most known service on the Internet that allows you to publish, share and comment videos with friends, family or other members of the community. Google acquired YouTube in October 2006 for $1.6 billion, the most impressive investment ever made in an Internet company. Since the acquisition, the search giant tried to improve the product to attract even more users to pay off the money but Google recorded a huge number of problems caused by YouTube.

Probably the best example concerns UTube, a regional seller of machine utilities that sued YouTube for unwanted traffic on its site after users attempted to visit the video service. Utube's domain, utube.com is similar with youtube.com, the well-known product provided by Google that is continuously attracting users so, a simple typo can increase the number of visitors for the UTube's page.

Some time ago, UTube sued YouTube for the traffic caused by the video service but the Google's representatives released a statement today to present the company's opinion about the lawsuit. The search giant sustained UTube tried to obtain additional revenues by placing a search engine and a larger logo on its website. Then, it filed a complaint against YouTube for trademark infringement adding that their number of visitors was increased by the Google acquisition. Google's representative mentioned in the statement that UTube is looking to obtain only money and popularity so the lawsuit must be dismissed by the court.

"Universal, however, smelled a quick litigation buck and declined YouTube's offer. It slapped a large "UTUBE" logo on its website, which previously had carried the "Universal Tubing & Rollform Equipment" logo. It rushed a trademark application to the USPTO for the name "UTUBE"-the first time it had ever sought trademark status for that name-and days later filed this lawsuit with as much publicity as it could garner. It then changed its website to include a faux "search engine," designed to make money by deliberately diverting users seeking YouTube's site to other websites," Google's representatives sustained.
