Verizon seems to be gathering up some pretty nice mobile phones to offer their customers the year to come. Earlier today there were news about Samsung i760 coming to Verizon and it seems that the UTStarcom VX6800, a CDMA version of the
HTC TyTn will also become available to Verizon customers.
The VX6800 is a nice
addition to the mobile phones Verizon has to offer and comes equipped with some pretty nice features. Just like most Windows Mobile 5.0 powered handhelds, the VX6800 features a sliding QWERTY keyboard that users have grown accustomed to expect in such a device, a huge color display, 256MB ROM and 96MB RAM.
And - as usual - if the internal memory is not enough, the mobile phone also provides a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion. The VX6800 also includes Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11b/g for connectivity, BroadBand Access Connection and EV-DO technology with Rev A support for increased data speeds. The QWERTY keyboard along with the thumb wheel the phone features provide easy navigation that is highly needed in a device of this type.
The information available so far probably doesn't cover everything this handheld can do, but more info should be out pretty soon, hopefully, a full spec sheet.
According to rumors, the phone should be released somewhere around the 15th of January. The price also remains unknown for the time being, but as the VX6800 packs a lot of extra features, compared to the XV6700 that can be purchased for $499/$399, it will most likely be less affordable than that.
