Since the USB 3.0 interface standard is steadily becoming more popular, USRobotics decided to take advantage of end-users' desire to enjoy 5 Gbps speeds, so it came up with a complete line of devices meant to give any PCs support for the technology.

The USB 3.0 SuperSpeed standard is one that has a maximum theoretical transfer speed of about 5 Gbps, which makes it ten times faster than the USB 2.0 technology.

This speed is the reason why this connectivity solution saw such success even in absence of native chipset support for it.

Granted, chipsets that support USB 3.0 aren't exactly available now either, but various hardware makers had little trouble in finding ways to circumvent this.

One of them is USRobotics, which has just released a complete line of devices intended to give any PC access to the aforementioned 5 Gbps speeds.

To be more specific, the market can now welcome the USR8402 2-port PCI Express Card Adapter, the USR8401 dual port USB 3.0 ExpressCard adapter and the 4-port USR8400 USB 3.0 hub.

"The USB 3.0 products offer faster data transfers for simpler access to files, enabling users to spend more time editing photos or video for instance, versus waiting to transfer that data," explained Holly Oxford, director of sales and marketing for USRobotics.

"The 4-Port Hub is one of the first in the market to offer four full USB 3.0 ports. Not only is this the easiest way possible to expand the number of 3.0 USB ports, the end result is additional power for more robust USB peripherals," the sales director went on to saying.

All of the newcomers are, of course, backwards compatible with previous-generation USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 electronics.

As for pricing and availability, the members of the trio are already selling, with the starting price being of $39.99.
