Well, if it isn't the Universal Serial Bus again. It was designed for personal computers, but it has become a suite of hand held devices like flash drives, video games consoles, PDAs and portable players. Apparently, the USB can also be utilized to heat your anatomical self with stuff like blankets, slippers, knee pads or gloves.
Of course, PCs, laptops or consoles are necessary in this heating process.

The heating USB blanket does what the name suggests. Really! Just plug it in and feel the heat. It's available from Brando and costs around 25$. This may be a nice buy for people who like planning while lying in cozy couches.

You can also add USB slippers to the USB heated ensemble. Actually, it's DUAL USB to manage each slipper independently. Yeah, even USB slippers have gone "dual core". You can try walking with the slippers connected to your laptop. It can also feature Notooth if you fall while carrying the laptop with you. You can buy them from Thanko for about 33$. They can cover your ankles, and even come with an extra option: special bear attachment. Hackers wouldn't buy this stuff in a million years!

Neeext case! This one goes to the bloggers. Dual USB heating Knee Pads. Nice enough! Will handle the cold knees syndrome. It's available from Vavolo for 20$. The bad news is that using Warmmi you can't "walki". You can just "talki".

You can also acquire heating Dual USB gloves. Those are probably going to help the researchers who get stuck in some nasty North Pole arctic project. They come with 2 levels of heating control. Usbgeek sells them for 22$. Again, if you intend on using one of these, please remember to stay close to your PC or laptop (bad things could happen).

100 bucks for all. Am I hearing 110? 120?

These products (ALL USB powered devices in fact) would never be able to produce any significant heat. By specification, USB is limited to 500 mA per port, at 5 Volt. That means there's a maximum heat output of 2.5 Watt, practically nothing.

A digital camera or cellphone produces more heat when in use! Save your money and buy something that produces real heat. Gerbing's Heated Clothing is a US based company selling clothing that puts out real heat, close to 30 Watt depending on model and power source.
