I am not sure whether there is a limit to what a promotional thingie could be; one thing is certain, though: the moment I've seen the beer-laden USB thumbdrive was simply glorious and the idea was funny and innovative at the same time. Now, that's a completely new dimension for advertisers and for their clients as well; and the advertising horizon has just gotten wider, allowing creatives in ad-agencies to further explore the new possibilities.
So, what's with the beer-USB, you will most likely ask. Well, it's nothing more and nothing less than what its very name says.
We're talking about a common-size USB drive, but coming with a transparent plastic casing that lets you take a peek inside... namely into the small space filled with beer. Its designer had a visionary idea – to put to better use the little room usually available within the USB drives' casing: and it seems like beverages were one of the most interesting materials to use in this case.
While the electronic parts making the proper USB memory stick are safely protected in a secure plastic case with a removable cap, the rest of the thumbdrive can be filled with the desired liquid and its case screen-printed with the customer's logo, in this particular case, Bud. Now, of course you can use this device designed by CNK Promotions with a lot of liquids other than beer: vodka and various liquors can also fill the USB drive. Just don't try this with petroleum products or the plastic case will most likely be destroyed.
There is no knowledge as to whether or not the CNK Promotion USB drive can be opened in order to access the contained beverages; at the same time, I wonder how large the number of such devices filled with beer (or other similarly pleasant stuff) should be, in order to generate some boozing fun. And since these USB drives come in sizes ranging from 128MB up to 8GB, why doesn't the beer content vary also? An 8GB beer mug could really smash, I guess. And too bad you cannot "zip" the beer!
Now, if you want to know more, drop a line to these guys; I'm sure they'll be more than interested to learn what kind of spirit you'd like to fill your unique promotional USB drives with.
