Namco Networks has just announced the US availability of a new mobile game called USA TODAY Txtpert. As you probably have already guessed, the game is created together with USA TODAY, one of North America's leading newspapers.
Namco's USA TODAY Txtpert is the mobile version of the word puzzle that readers can find in the famous newspaper. Built
from a board game conceived by Games Play UK, USA TODAY Txtpert comes as a new take on the classic crossword puzzles. The game asks players to find clues that are replaced with numbers.
Featuring words from 33 categories, USA TODAY Txtpert includes two sub-titles: Txtword and Down-word, both of them requiring you to enter letters with the fastest speed you're capable of.
Talking about the new mobile game, Christy Hartsell, director of brand licensing for USA TODAY, declared, "USA TODAY Txtpert challenges players to solve crossword puzzles, but first they must solve the clue, which makes for an interesting twist. Fans of crossword puzzles, brainteasers and logic games are going to enjoy the challenge that Txtpert provides".
Scott Rubin, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Namco Networks, added, "Word puzzle games have always been very popular and highly addictive. USA TODAY Txtpert plays off the increasingly popular trend of sending text messages by making the act of texting into a mobile phone game. The texting trend inspired the game, so it was logical that the game would appear on the device that was the inspiration".
For the moment, Txtpert is only available in the US, for the subscribers of Verizon and Sprint (Boost Mobile included). In the near future, Namco will make the game available for most of the other US carriers as well as for the Canadian ones.
