Starting 2013, vending machines in the US will do their best to help American citizens cut down on their waistlines by opting for beverages whose caloric input is a rather reduced one.

The three major companies behind this project are Coca-Cola Co., PepsiCo Inc., and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.

Apparently, all three have agreed that the time has now come for American citizens to know exactly how the beverages they opt for most of the time impact on their overall wellbeing.

Thus, the month of January 2013, will witness vending machines in Chicago and San Antonio beginning to display information concerning the caloric input of the various beverages they sell, and soon after consumers nationwide will also be encouraged to “Try a Low-Calorie Beverage.”

Hopefully, this new campaign intended to promote healthier beverage choices will yield significant results soon after it makes its debut.
