US officials once again take aim at China. The draft of an annual US - China Economic and Security Review Commission report reveals that the Unites States sees China as the “most threatening actor in cyberspace.”

According to Bloomberg, Chinese government agencies and hackers are accused of utilizing sophisticated techniques in order to gain access to highly sensitive computer systems, including ones of military and defense contractors.

US officials say that China is relentlessly attempting to disrupt communications satellites, navigation systems, and weapon targeting systems.

This report comes weeks after the US House of Representatives’ Intelligence Committee officially named Chinese telecoms equipment manufacturers Huawei and ZTE a threat.

Later, US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta also raised concerns about the cyber capabilities of some of the country’s adversaries, such as Iran, Russia and China.
