The security of our computers is more and more threatened by a lot of dangerous technologies including viruses, malware files, hack attacks and other numerous malicious files. Although the security companies are struggling to develop a powerful solution able to block the dangerous attempts over our computers, it seems like their efforts are useless as the firms report an increased amount of hack activity. Today, Viruslist published an article to inform that US is the biggest source of computer attacks with 31 percent of the hack activity hosted by the country. China is placed on the second position with 10 percent of the attacks while Germany is only the third with 7 percent.

"A significant rise has been noted particularly in the number of computers taken over by cybercriminals to form part of massive botnets. According to the latest data there were more than 6 million machines commandeered by malicious users by the end of 2006, an increase of 29 percent from the first six months of last year. China currently has the largest number of these hijacked computers, with 26 percent of the global total," Viruslist reported.

According to the same publication, 77 percent of the malicious attacks were conducted against Internet Explorer, the Microsoft browser that is often regarded as one of the most vulnerable applications on the Internet. At this time, Microsoft's Internet Explorer is fighting for the best browser award with Firefox, the Mozilla application that is currently installed on millions of computers in the entire world.

Our computers' security is more and more threatened so it looks like we're out of solutions to protect ourselves. Most users sustain it's enough to install an antivirus bundled with a firewall but what if these products contain security flaws?
