The attacks were launched by a person "who has no life"

Over the weekend, the United States network of Minecraft Survival Games (MCSG) community was hit by a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack.

“Looks like unfortunately, some people with way too much time on their hands (and no life) are executing a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack on our US network and TeamSpeak. This means that you may have issues connecting to the US network/TS or you may randomly drop connection,” MCSG representatives stated on Saturday.

On Sunday, a message on Twitter announced another attack.

“US is getting DDoS'd again, we are working on it now trying to locate the person who has no life. We will be up shortly!” the alert read.

Minecraft Survival Games offers fully automated “Hunger Games” style Minecraft servers. According to its website, over 1 million players access their servers in the US, Europe, Canada, Australia and Asia.

The incident comes just days after DDOS protection company Prolexic warned that attacks were becoming increasingly problematic for gaming communities.
