“Your government is evil,” he wrote on the social media site

Brandon Raub – a decorated US Marine – has been arrested by authorities at his home for posting some messages on Facebook that have been cataloged as being “terrorist in nature.”

Everyone knows that these days messages posted on social media websites can get you fired, or even arrested and this example once again highlights this fact.

“Friends, You deserve to kow the truth. There has been an overwhelming amount of evil enacted and planned against you, your children, and your countrymen. It is great in scope. Your government evil. It is as simple as that. And the calvary is coming,” reads one of the man's posts.

“This is the picture of the Pentagon, right after our leaders shot a missle into it,” he wrote next to a picture (see screenshot).

“Sharpen up my axe; I'm here to sever heads,” he said on August 13.

Apparently, messages like these attracted the attention of the FBI, Secret Service and the Chesterfield Police, all of which sent their representatives to Raub’s house, Salem News reports.

While initially they told the ex-Marine’s mother that they’re taking him in on assault and resisting arrest charges, they later revealed that the terrorist Facebook posts are the actual reason.

“He was handcuffed, not read his rights, put into a Chesterfield Police Department vehicle and taken to John Randolph Psychiatric Hospital in Hopewell, Virginia,” the woman said.

Shortly after Raub was taken in, people started showing their support by launching a petition called “The President of the United States: Free Brandon Raub.” The author of the petition believes that his arrest is a violation of freedom of speech.

“The government does not have our permission to monitor our Facebook posts and they do not have permission to arrest someone for non-violent patriotic posts,” he said.
