US Cellular Goes Live with Motorola ELECTRIFY 2 and DEFY XT

Motorola Mobility and US Cellular have teamed up once again to offer customers the sequel to the popular ELECTRIFY Android phone.

Motorola ELECTRIFY 2 is now available for purchase online via US Cellular for only $199 USD after a $100 USD mail-in rebate.

Additionally, US Cellular confirmed the upcoming availability of Motorola DEFY XT smartphone beginning August 3.

Although both smartphones are powered by Google's Android platform, the ELECTRIFY 2 comes with Ice Cream Sandwich, whereas the DEFY XT is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

Motorola ELECTRIFY 2 features a slim design and is only 8.4mm thick. The phone is made of Kevlar fiber and features splash-guard coating to protect from spills.

Hardware-wise, the device is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. In addition, the ELCTRIFY 2 boasts a stunning 4.3-inch ColorBoost capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

Motorola ELECTRIFY 2 packs a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 1080p HD camcorder. According to US Cellular, this is the first device to include SMARTACTIONS application.
