US Cellular has just announced it will expand its 4G LTE network to 30 new cities and states next week. The carrier hopes to have almost half of its customers covered by LTE by the end of the year.

In this regard, US Cellular has teamed up with King Street Wireless, a company that owns 700 MHz licenses in 27 states and is a well-known provider of LTE services wholesale to various operators.

According to US Cellular, starting November 5, its 4G LTE services will be available in 30 new markets, including in select cities in Iowa, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Oklahoma.

The next major markets to receive 4G LTE coverage will be various locations in Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, New Hampshire, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.

The operator also confirmed 4G LTE services will be launched in additional markets soon after, so US Cellular living in Rockford, Ill., Medford, Ore., Yakima, Wash., and Knoxville, Tenn should expect to have LTE network coverage pretty soon.

US Cellular already launched several 4G LTE-enabled smartphones and tablets, including the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Metrix and the Samsung Galaxy Note II, so customers will be able to talk and access the Internet at the same time.

Moreover, the carrier has a pretty interesting portfolio of 4G LTE capable data devices, which include Huawei UML397 4G LTE USB Wireless Modem and Samsung SCH-LC11 Mobile Hotspot.

“With more than half of our customers having access to 4G LTE speeds by the start of the holiday season, we are helping customers simplify and organize their lives more quickly and easier than ever. The 4G LTE network builds upon our award-winning customer satisfaction and is the only one that comes with a valuable rewards program and other unique benefits like Overage Protection and Battery Swap,” said David Kimbell, senior vice president of marketing and chief marketing officer for U.S. Cellular.
