The update will be available both OTA (over the air) and via Samsung Kies

US Cellular has just announced that customers with the Samsung Galaxy S III would be able to upgrade their smartphones with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean starting this Friday, December 21.

According to the carrier, the long-awaited Jelly Bean update will be pushed through OTA (over the air), in stages, as well as via Samsung Kies desktop software.

The update will bring lots of camera enhancements, such as new live camera and camcorder filters, the option to pause and resume while recording video and a new low light photo mode.

US Cellular's Galaxy S III will also offer improved usability after the update, as new options such as Swype keyboard, will be added.

Last but not least, Jelly Bean update includes Google Now, better notifications and automatic widget adjustments. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
