The US Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator has released a report called “Joint Strategic Plan on Intellectual Property Enforcement.”

According to the report, federal authorities have seized a total of 1,700 online domains as part of the operation known as “Operation In Our Sites.”

The operation, initiated in 2010, is aimed at the online sale of pirated works and counterfeit goods.

So far, 14 individuals have been arrested and over $3 million (€2.3 million) have been seized.

The latest raids took part in April when the US Department of Homeland Security seized 10 Internet domains and associated PayPal accounts.

The US Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) reported that the websites were used to sell counterfeit cycling equipment and apparel.

At the time, investigators found that the PayPal accounts had funds of over $90,000 (€68,000).
