New photos of the crash site of a UPS plane in Alabama have emerged once the fire prompted by the accident has been put out.

You can clearly observe in the photo posted above that the plane has been broken in half. Birmingham Mayor William Bell tells Fox News that it has scattered into many more different pieces in its missed landing on Runway 108 at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation as officials are trying to reach the black box of the aircraft. However, witnesses have reported that the plane exploded.

"The plane is in several sections. [...] There were two to three small explosions, but we think that was related to the aviation fuel," Bell describes.

Witness Jerome Sanders of Birmingham tells the Telegraph that the Airbus was on fire before it hit the ground.
