A couple of days ago, it was reported that Britney Spears checked herself into a rehabilitation clinic in the Bahamas. That was only hours before she went into a hair saloon and shaved herself and then stepped into a tattoo parlor where she had two brand new pieces of body art done. Her publicist strongly denied such an allegation, stating (of course!) that his client did not have a problem with alcohol or drug abuse.

Today, new evidence surfaces in the Britney Spears' breakdown case that shed some light on why she left the clinic only 24 hours after being admitted into it. It turns out (again, this has not been confirmed by the singer's publicist) that it was Britney's mother who coaxed her into seeking help, after finding her unconscious on the floor of her hotel suite in the middle of the day.

Sources claim that Lynn Spears threatened her daughter that she would take her two children away from her if she didn't go into rehab ASAP. For 24 hours, the toxic (no need to put comas here as if we were still referring to her hit single) singer complied with her mother's request. After that, she became rebellious and wouldn't listen to logic... and packed her bags and stormed out!

'She had been "partying heavily and was completely out of it". Lynn Spears is then understood to have threatened her 25-year-old daughter that she would take her two children from her unless she checked into rehab. She would spend just 24-hours at the Crossroads rehabilitation facility before returning to California. She subsequently had a furious row with her mother - then in Louisiana - over the telephone. Hours later, she was to be found shaving off her own hair at a salon, then later having two new tattoos etched into her midriff.', the 'Daily Mail' writes in today's issue.

After speaking to one of Brit Brit's 'friends', the tabloid also found out that her recent erratic behavior is due mainly to the fact that she is too confused. 'She feels a failure professionally and unloved in her personal life. It's as if she is getting a kick out of doing increasingly erratic things just to see how the public and media react. Sadly, she is getting confused by what she sees as adoration, when it's actually her fans reacting in horror', the source is quoted as saying.

And, wait! There is more to come. Last night, after shaving her head, the pop tart had already begun to experiment a serious case of shaver's remorse. Consequently, she was spotted around town with a blonde wig, trying hard to hide the fact that she no longer had her trademark mane of blonde hair. But wigs come in all colors for Brit Brit, since she was also seen wearing a blue one.

This is almost too disturbing to poke fun at: the singer was seen by the pool at the Mondrian hotel, heavily intoxicated, crying and desperately trying to book a room without money or credit card. The witnesses claim that she was telling the hotel clerk that 'No one wants me anymore', as if in a bid to be allowed to stay there for one night. However, the hotel staff did not want to take the fall for what might happen with her once upstairs, so they denied her request.

When she heard that, Britney went by the pool and this part must be one of the most confusing stories we have ever heard. 'She kept saying: "Nobody wants me anymore". A couple of tourists felt sorry for her and took her upstairs to their room. Then they took her to the gift shop, she went back and forth trying on three different bathing suits. But bizarrely she then went to the pool and tried to shave her legs. After that, she tried to get a room again and couldn't get one. She was obviously intoxicated.', various sources told the 'Mail'.

If all this is true (and it probably is, at least 40% of it), this is the loudest cry of help that ever came out of a celebrity's mouth. Then again, if it was her mother who first convinced Britney to go into rehab, where is she now? To find the answer to all these questions, stay tuned here.
